As a regular buyer I have always found them to offer a friendly, welcoming and problem free service. A proper saleroom where they still treat you as a customer even after payment has been made. None of the annoying and often inconvenient 'book a collection appointment' nonsense here.

Fantastic service and postage ! as always.. they have good sales all year round. Good bargains and very friendly staff who are always happy to help. I have been buying from them for a few years on and off. Always look at their auction catalogues and if i have any questions i email them and they are always happy to answer emails. When I found myself in a position of having to part with a lifetimes railwayman’s collection that belonged to my departed hubby I had a recommendation to call Goodwin Auctioneers from an online enquiry. You never know quite how these things are going to go down you ??? I’m not an expert and was concerned about not knowing the value of things. Rupert drove to my middle of nowhere home and from the moment we poured coffee I knew I was in safe hands. He was super knowledgeable about the collection and was excited to act on my families behalf to take all 30 boxes away, sort, photograph and list the collection ready for auction. I was kept up to date at every step of the way and received emails and personal calls from Rupert at regular intervals throughout the process. The live auction was exciting and we felt we’d got top dollar for the 250 lots that went under the hammer. We received an email almost straight away notifying us of the total sale price which was wonderful. We received it on a bus in Cardiff and nearly got thrown off for screeching in joy. The payment went seemingly into the account with a week. The sellers fees and commission were totally reasonable for all of the hard work involved in getting the whole lot listed so professionally I would do it all again. And I’d do it with Rupert and John Goodwin Auctions. Thanks to all the team there for making a sad situation so positive and handled so professionally x

The complete service! My aunt recently died and Chris was able to come and do the probate valuation of the contents which I had within the week and was able to give to the solicitor. We were then able to divide what the family wanted. Chris then organised Richard to come and take the remaining saleable items to the John Goodwin Saleroom and Richard then completely cleared the house ready for sale. The auction items were divided between an Interiors sale and a Fine Art sale. Before each sale I was emailed a presale advice. Immediately after the sale I was emailed a post sale advice with the results and prices made. Two weeks afterwards I received a statement followed by payment directly into my bank account. Everything was done very efficiently and all paperwork was very clear. Many thanks for a brilliant service at a sad time.

John Goodwin have been great to deal with over the last few years when we have needed to move on surplus items of furniture and jewellery. They are a very friendly team - we dealt with Rupert who was extremely professional and knowledgeable. Items raised more than the guide price on most occasions and the funds received quickly in a couple of weeks. Clearly a good, long established firm that can be trusted.

Whilst I live near to Coventry, I prefer to use John Goodwin auctioneers as the sales attract better prices than I get locally It is so easy to enter items for sale and the paperwork is easy to understand. In all cases the staff have been very friendly and helpful, If time permits the staff will also assist with loading. The auction location is easily accessible, the room is in good condition and is warm and there are good toilet and car parking facilities and refreshments Estimates for selling items are realistic, good photographs and descriptions for the lots are produced and prompt payment is made. They are even happy to recycle the cardboard trays!

Auctioneers, always precise and good turn of lots, normally 120 lots minimum per hour, most auction houses state 100-120 ph but do not succeed. I recently attended a John Godwin’s toy sale at Malvern, and made a few purchases too! It’s very easy, register upon arrival and you are given a bidding number, then view the items and anything there you like. Have fun bidding for them! May I say I was impressed with how Richard and his team, had all the lots methodically laid out for viewing. The lot numbers carry over from table to the next table, so no needless and frustrating walking around, looking for what interests you. Items well presented too with plenty of helpful staff if you need assistance. Electrical items I’ve noticed come with a newly tested Pat test sticker ( portable appliance test) for your safety Nice lady there selling teas and coffee, also plenty of free parking close by.

Purchased jewellery items were expertly and discretely packed by James at a very reasonable cost taking into account time, materials and the cost of insurance. Chris and the team were honest about our large quantity of items (provided on a spreadsheet with photos) and took only those that they felt would sell and they did sell. The drop off was really easy and following the sale the proceeds appeared in our account as promised with a breakdown of costs and charges via email.
