We are also able to provide details of a cost effective 'man with a van' for items where postage costs are likely to be uneconomical and where time is not of the essence.

We are aware that there are cost implications for these services and we strongly advise that you check these carefully before bidding. Also bear in mind that some specialist firms can be unreliable!
We can sometimes arrange a basic, uninsured, postage and packing service for some items to UK mainland addresses only. This is entirely at the buyers risk.
This is dealt with on our behalf by a local contractor and is often a very cost effective solution.
We recommend that you contact us prior to bidding so that we can confirm whether or not our contractor is able to assist.
Typically, charges range from a minimum of £10 plus VAT to deal with the packing, packing materials and adminstation plus the ‘postage’ costs.
Most items are sent by Royal Mail Special delivery or Parcelforce (up to 2KG) but for larger consignments we can try to organise a courier or pack for collection by your own courier.
Packing charges would be incurred where our packer is asked to prepare parcels for collection.
Our packer is unable to offer insurance for items that are dealt with ‘in house’ and it is important to understand the limitations of cover relating to ‘antiques’ and other items:
https://www.parcelforce.com/help-and-advice/sending/items-we-exclude-compensation
Our packer is unable to pack very large or heavy items, weapons, pictures (other than small unglazed pictures) or items that are particularly fragile, we leave that to the experts!
Our packer usually has two packing days post sale, normally 7 days and 14 days following the sale.
Unless full payment is received and cleared at least 24 hours before the last packing day we will be unable to assist.
Payment:
Debit card payments where the customer is not present can only be accepted from registered and approved internet buyers and only up to a limit of £300.
For payments from telephone bidders and commission bidders where the customer is not present and exceeding a £300 limit, payment by bank transfer will be required.
Payment by bank transfer is our preferred method of payment, our bank details are as follows:

Clearance of Sale Room
Please check with the auctioneers to confirm the current clearance arrangements before bidding if you are unable to clear on sale day.
Small items that have not been collected on sale day can be taken to store at no cost but the auctioneers are unable to accept any responsibility for loss or damage that may arise.
Haulage costs will be incurred for removal of larger items and furniture if not collected within the window for collection specified.
Haulage will be charged at cost and is subject to VAT.
Items will be transported to a store and storage charges will be incurred.
We would be happy to provide quotes for haulage and storage if required.
At least 24 hours notice will be required for collection of items from store.
